A-Rod and Teixeira Carry Yanks
A-Rod drove in two in the ninth with a home run, which was an absolute bomb by the way, to tie the game and sent it into extras. In the eleventh, Mark Teixeira hit a “wall scraper” to win the game down the left field line. Wow! What an exciting game but there is plenty more about this game that made it spectacular.
AJ Burnett and Nick Blackburn both threw outstanding games; Burnett went 6 innings and Blackburn went 5.2 each giving up a run. Burnett gave up five walks which could’ve led to some pretty bad happenings for the Yanks but he got out of it like both teams did over the course of the game. Blackburn gave up three hits and walked two while striking out three. Overall, the starters threw a pitchers duel that was exciting to watch. They always are, waiting to see who makes the first mistake that will cost them the game.
When Joba Chamberlain and Phil Coke combined to throw a perfect seventh inning I thought the Yanks were gonna cruise to another win with the way the bullpen was pitching. Yeah right! Phil Hughes came in to pitch the eighth and that is where everything went wrong. He was chased after only getting two outs after he gave up two hits and a walk which led to two runs. It was a tough performance from Hughes and the Twins took the lead going into the final inning.
This is where I picked up the game on the radio on my way home from the movies with some friends. I figured out that the Yanks were down 3-1. It was killing me how the Yankees might end up losing to the Twins. It was terrible. But then it all happened. Mariano Rivera finished the eighth and got out of the ninth with no more damage. This was the time for the Yankees to hit there stride. And they did. Teixeira got on base and Alex Rodriguez brought him home with a bomb to the bullpen. The game was tied and we almost won it in the ninth too. Swish almost hit one but it was a few steps short of the wall.
In extras, it was pretty close with each team making their fair share of mistakes, pitching and fielding. In general, the pitching only made a few mistakes to let guys get hits but the biggest one was when the Twins’ Joe Nathan threw the ball to second to try and pick off Brett Gardner and he threw it into the outfield. Gardner shimmied over to third and was immediatley the number one priority for the Twins’ defense. But Gardner made a mistake too. On a line drive to the middle of the infield, Gardner took off towards home. But he didn’t realize it was hit right at Orlando Cabrera and Gardner was doubled off at third. That killed me.
The Yanks were unable to capitalize in the tenth but when Mark Teixeira came up in the eleventh, he came threw and hit a bullet down the the left field line that hit the top of the wall and bounced into the stands for the homer. The game was finally over and the Yankees won again. Just like I predicted they would. It was a great game that was not only going have every one on the edge of their seats, but it was key to the outcome of this series. Now the Yankees don’t necessarily have to win on the road they can have the comfort of playing another game at home if they are unable to win in Minnesota, which won’t be an easy task.

The Cards May Get An Early Holliday
This drop by Matt Holliday ultimately put the Cardinals in a 2-0 hole and has put a lot of pressure on the Cards to win both games at home. If they lose even one they are done. This is how important that drop turns out to have been. He’s going to be hitting himself when the Cardinals go home early.
The Dodgers truly did get lucky last night but the Dodgers I think have a talented enough team to win a game on the road. If they can win a game on the road already up two games then they can close this thing out early and get some extra rest. That would be really big for them. They are my pick to get to the world series this year.
Speaking of that, my friend and I made a bet about who would make it to the Fall Classic. My pick is the Yankees and Dodgers, the matchup that a lot of people really want to see. Joe Torre returning to Yankee Stadium and facing off against the current Yankee skipper. That would be so great. Now just because I really want to see that matchup doesn’t mean it is the obvious choice but I really think the Dodgers can get there if they play well enough.
My friend’s pick is the Angels and Dodgers. Now I don’t know about the Angels but the Dodgers are obviously my pick too. Whoever wins the bet has to buy the other a snack out of the vending machines at school. Nothing huge but we felt like making it interesting enough so that’s what we came up with.

CC, Yankees Roll
The Yankees just keep on rolling and to be completely honest, I think it will take a lot more than the effort the Twins gave last night to stop the Bombers.
CC was absolutely phenominal. I can’t say enough about it. He pitched 6 2/3 solid innings and he was just about as good as he has been all year. This win shows that despite being denied 20 wins on the season that he is still about as good as they get. With 8 K’s and only one earned run, I officially summarize this game for the Yanks as domination.
CC wasn’t the only successful Yankee last night. Far from it in fact. Let’s start with the Captain. Mr. November just picked up where he left off in the regular season and completely dominated Twins pitching. He was 2-2 with a homer, three runs scored, and two RBI’s. An outstanding performance from the captain was just the beginning of the successt the Yankees had last night.
Hideki Matsui surely showed that he still deserved the nickname “Godzilla” and belted a homer in the fifth. He finished the game having gone 1-3 with that homer and he also drew a walk.
A-Rod went 2-4 wtih two RBI’s and a run scored and he played a solid third base as well. Nick Swisher also drove in a run to add to the Yankees’ success. Another thing I’d like to add about Swisher is how important his clubhouse presence has been all season. Every team should have at least one guy like this. Someone to keep everyone going and to keep spirits up. The jokester on the team, the prankster. Swisher definitely filled that roll this year with the Yankees and I am really grateful of that.
When the game finally rolled into the ninth inning, it looked as if the game was done with. The Twins had no chance. They weren’t even gonna come close to scoring at all…
-Now with the way I just said all that it seems like I’m going to say that they came back and won the game. Yeah right. Not on Mo’s watch.
Mariano Rivera pitched as spectacularly as he has all year. Another great performance that left the Twins scratching their heads. He let up one hit and one walk but other than that he was fantastic striking out two.
The great thing about Mo is that he does all of this with only one pitch. His cutter, which wasn’t originally a cutter, has gotten the job done over his career unlike any other pitcher’s pitch in history has. That story was in Sports Illustrated recently and it was one of the best articles I have read in a while. Mo is one of a kind.
With the opening game win in the books, the Yanks have one day off before they send AJ Burnett out to face off against Nick Blackburn.
-By the way doesn’t Blackburn and Joe Mauer look really similar or is it just me?
Well, I’m pretty sure that Burnett has the advantage in this one but Blackburn is still a quality pitcher. The Twins may have some chance… possibly… maybe a little… Yeah right, I’m just joking. The Yankees are going to win this one as they did the first one.

Playoff Prediction (AL)
Now how about that? The Twins are in the playoffs. I bet no one believed they could do it. I bet everyone thought the Tigers were a lock for the division but look who’s in the playoffs now. Regardless of who it is, the Yankees are going to sweep them. They are just too good.
The Twins pulled off a miracle win last night and it really was a great game to watch. The fans at that game must have been going crazy the entire game. After the game went into extras, I knew the Twins had it in their hands. I just had a feeling.
There were so many great plays and happenings in the extra innings that made it such a great game. Brandon Inge’s diving stop at third, Ryan Raburn’s throw from left to get Casilla out at home. It was all great stuff. The twins were able to come out victorious and I am not taking anything away from the Tigers. They played a great game. It’s just that the Twins were able to come up with one more extra run that ended up winning it.
Well, now that the Twins have finally reached the postseason, they have the amazing prize of playing the Yankees in the ALDS. Just oodles of fun.
Prediction 1: Yankees vs Twins
Yankees Sweep
If you look at the season series numbers between these two teams, it seems as though the Yankees have easily taken the series by storm and have the obvious advantage in about every statistical category. Well, although Joe Girardi says it has been a closer series than it looks on paper, the Yankees will easily sweep the Twins in the ALDS and will move on to the ALCS. Three simple aspects of the Yankees’ game can explain why I am so confident with my pick for them to win the series:
Tremendous Offense, Dominating Pitching, Phenominal Defense
And then again, they have Derek Jeter
Prediction 2: Red Sox vs Angels
Red Sox win in 5
This matchup is going to be a lot clsoer than the Yankees’ against the Twins. For one, the Red Sox have not proven to me over the past half month that they can win consistently against teams that are actually good. They haven’t really been consistent at all and that is why I think this series will go five games.
The Red Sox have a really good pitching staff that they are bringing into the playoffs. As long as their pitching is good, I think the offense, which has struggled a little of late, can keep up. The Angels on the other hand, have also had some pitching problems. They still have some really reliable guys on their rotation but the offense has been phenominal this year. They have a good squad but I have to pick the Red Sox in this matchup.

The Zack Greinke For Cy Young Post
When talks about the AL and NL Cy Young awards comes up, the general consensus usually comes up with four or five solid candidates for the awards. This season, there is no doubt that the NL race is between these three guys:

Chris Carpenter (StL)
So, that race is one in itself. The AL race is a totally different race from my perspective. There are so many quality guys in the AL that are worthy of the award but since I pretty much have to narrow it down to a few guys, I have come up with five guys that could possibly win it.

CC Sabathia
Being a Yankee fan myself, you have to think I’m gonna start off with the top guy in the Yankees’ rotation. And he is not just on this list because of where he plays. He is a legitimate candidate. Sabathia came just short of reaching twenty wins for the season when the Rays tore up the Yankees on Friday, 13-4. CC just wasn’t on his game and unfortunately he was unable to make it to twenty wins. That doesn’t mean his chance at winning Cy Young were shattered. No it just means that he isn’t going to have the distinction of having twenty wins. It’s alright. Adam Wainwright was also denied twenty wins when he recorded a no decision in his final start of the regular season.
Sabathia has had the pleasure of playing in New York and behind an offense that is probably the best in the league at scoring runs. That right field fence has looked great all year for Yankee hitters and he has really taken advantage of that. His record to finish off the season is 19-8. A solid record for any pitcher. To get to 19 wins is a huge aspect of his Cy Young resume. His 8 losses aren’t too bad a total but Sabathia definitely had some trouble at the beginning of the year that drew up that ugly loss total.
Sabathia’s ERA at the end of the season totals up at 3.37 which is a respectable one. Any ERA below 3.50 is generally considered solid. Sabathia has really picked it up toward the end of the year compared to the beginning of the year. He had real trouble early and that is why his ERA after the first month of play was really high.
Sabathia also finished the season with 197 strikeouts. He finished two complete games and one shutout. Sabathia’s season was definitely worthy of a Cy Young award. But personally, he would be my third choice for the award this year despite being a Yankee. I know it’s unfortunate but I am making my picks according to how good they had over the season and Sabathia did not have the best season among the AL pitchers.
2. Felix Hernandez
This young flamethrowing Mariner is a clear candidate for the Cy Young this year. His season has included two complete games and one shutout. He struck out 211 guys over the season. And guess what… he still has one more start today. Despite playing for a Mariners team that lacks much offense, other than Ichiro, Hernandez has done a great job of maintaining his success. Hernandez has one more game to go but his current record is 18-5. A record that is a little better than Sabathia’s. Sabathia does have one more win than Hernandez but Hernandez has less losses. It’s close but that is not the only thing that goes into account when thinking of a Cy Young resume.
Hernandez has a phenominal 2.38 ERA which to me is just fantastic considering he doesn’t get much run support from the M’s. He really can control a game and knows how to get it done like the best of them…. wait a minute, he is one of the best of them.
Hernandez’s age is what is so amazing. He is so successful so early in his career, this being his fifth year in the league. He still has a long way to go and this success and poise he is showing now will surely get him into high places as his career goes on.
Hernandez also finished the season with 232 innings of work which is clearly more than any other guy on the Mariner rotation or bullpen. He has really done something special in Seattle this year and he is a legitimate Cy Young candidate as well. He is my second pick in this contest.
3. Justin Verlander
Verlander has also had a fantastic season. He has led that Tigers team back to the spotlight in the AL Central after a few really really really really… okay you get the point… bad years. With the Tigers on the brink of a playoff birth, Verlander will be a key to the Tigers’ success if they get to the playoffs.
Verlander finished this season with a 19-9 record. A very good one that easily compares with Sabathia’s and Hernandez’s that will go up as the top three records in the league. Verlander has been a solid… more than solid… top of the rotation guy for the Tigers. He has been the vocal point of this team all year. The offense hasn’t been great but it has been good enough to support the pitching and Verlander hasn’t really needed all that support. With the stuff he has, there isn’t really much you can do to support him other than put a single run up on the board.
Verlander always finishes at the top or near the top of the strikeout list. This season, he finished with 264 and every one made the opposing batter just look back and think about how good the pitch was. Verlander is that good. You always have to include this flamethrower in the Cy Young conversation. The only difference this year is that his team has been a little more successful and he has gotten more recognition that he has the past few years. Verlander’s ERA was also fantastic this season at 3.45 which is a little lower than Sabathia’s. To me, either him or Sabathia would go third in my voting but I would put Sabathia there because of the success of the Yankees this year. Nothing against Verlander but they are both great performers.
Verlander also finished the season three complete games and one shutout.
4. Roy Halladay
You always have to include Roy Halladay in the Cy Young talks no matter what. He has had that kind of influence in this league since he came into it as a rookie.
Halladay’s numbers this year have been down and his Cy Young resume has decreased in value. Much of this came from the constant rumors of his being traded at the deadline in the summer. His performance surrounding the deadline shows many stats that are uncharacteristic of his career. Some bad losses, tough ERA numbers. And just about anything that can go wrong during an outing. It happened to him.
Halladay didn’t have a terrible season though. His record was 17-10 to finish the season. Not terrible but a tough number of losses. He probably could’ve come up with a win or two more but that was due to the trade rumors and the fact that the Jays had a tough time getting runs on the board over a period of time over the summer.
Halladay is the lowest on my list of candidates for every reason I explained to you now. He finished with nine complete games and four shutouts, which are two stats he holds over the other candidates in this competition. He struck out 208 guys which is a respectable number. His season has been a generally good on but not a Cy Young good season.
Winner: Zack Greinke
I know, I know he’s on the Royals. But that is a key reason why he is the winner of this competition. I mean come on… a Royals pitcher in this conversation? That’s ridiculous. Well, it’s not. With the numbers he has put up this season, he is clearly the best pitcher in the AL.
His record doesn’t give him justice of how well he has pitched. At 16-8, Greinke has lossed more games than he should have if he had more run support. His ERA is a league low 2.16. That just proves that he really didn’t get enough run support ot get the wins. If he gave up one or two runs a game, he lost the game because of the lack of run support the Royals’ offense gave him.
Greinke also put up some good strikeout numbers finishing the season with 242. He six complete games and three shutouts. With the team he was pitching behind, I think it is possible that he could get a loss when he threw a shutout. Just kidding but still, I’m just making a point. Greinke’s season would’ve been no doubt a perfect Cy Young season if he was with any other team that could put up three or four runs a game of run support. The Royals have had a tough history and Greinke has been unfortunate enough to be stuck on that team and be such a great pitcher. With the talent he has, he is no doubt the Cy Young award winner in the AL this season.

Tigers Need To Go Undefeated
In undefeated, I mean these next two games. Since they have decided to make it a lot more interesting in the AL Central than it needs to be, the Tigers will need to win both of their remaining games to clinch the division. If they do not, they could let the Twins slip into that division lead. And therefore give the Twins a playoff birth. The Twins have been playing well of late and they could easily beat the Royals a couple more times. Last night they won 10-7. Today won’t be as easy a task as the Royals send Zack Greinke to the mound. He is beatable but I wouldn’t count on it. It will most certainly be a challenge. As far as the Tigers go, they better get their pitching scenario figured out.
Last night, Edwin Jackson, who has been all but and All Star quality pitcher since the All Star break, went five innings and gave up eight runs. It was another terrible performance from Jackson who the Tigers desperately need to get back up to speed if they want to go anywhere in the playoffs, assuming they make it. Right now, the only consistency in that Tigers rotation is Verlander and Porcello. Jackson hasn’t been there, the recently added Jarod Wahsburn hasn’t pitched all that well since being aquired and Jeremy Bonderman has just had a run in with the Twins series. It’s gonna be a tight race no matter what but the pitching is key for the Tigers right now.
Regardless off who was pitching last night, the Tigers offense has been good enough to rely on recently but last night, Jake Peavy shut them out. Peavy has really shown what he can do against a quality offense. The White Sox are really looking forward to having the Jake Peavy of last night next year. He will be a big part of that team. Here’s a quick prediction for next year… watch out for the White Sox.
The Tigers have had a long and grinding year. They have been in the talk of the city’s troublesome economy and how they have brought hope to the city. If they make the playoffs this year, that will be the icing on the cake for that city which is really in need of something special. Now, if they make the playoffs, they will have the uneasy task of playing the Yankees in the first round. It won’t be easy and it probably won’t end well for the Tigers but the fact that they made it to the playoffs will be a great thing for the Detroit citizens.
Honestly, I am rooting for the Tigers to get in. But it really comes down to winning. They can’t rely on the Twins losing since they are playing a weak Royals team. They NEED to win and need to win now. A one game lead is nothing to stand by at this point.
Today, the Tigers have rookie Alfredo Figaro going. It will be the biggest game of his life, at leas at this point, and he will be asked to go out and give a phenominal outing. They really need the pitching. I can’t stress that enough.

It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This
Well, as much as I thought I would be busy this upcoming year, I have realized that I have a lot more time on my hands than I thought I would. I had planned on not being able to write on this blog for a while, since I would be doing track this year. Since I have the extra time, I figured I’d get back to blogging on the MLBlogosphere. And I mean c’mon. Can you blame me. I couldn’t stay away from this too long. And what a perfect time to come back, right as the playoff races are coming to a conclusionn. There is still no winner in the AL Central and NL West, the Yankees are dominating and the Red Sox got lucky to even get into the playoffs as the wild card, considering they haven’t been able to win consistently recently. Well, I’m back and… HERE WE GO!
To start off, the Tigers’- Twins series last week was phenominal. Every morning before school I would make sure I got to the t.v. and see the score of the game. It was a great series. Orlando Cabrera came up big in one game. Another, the Tigers’ pitchihng was dominating. The Twins had no answer. It was a great series.
The Yankees have been 100% untouchable over the past few weeks. Now, by untouchable, I don’t mean they haven’t been able to lose, because they have, but when they did, it hasn’t really struck anybody as a tough blow, the Yankees haven’t lost that much recently but when they did, it didn’t hurt. They have been on that kind of roll.
The Red Sox… well, I guess I can say they deserve to be in the playoffs over the Rangers who have all but fallen off the edge of the earth this past month. The Red Sox haven’t done all that much better. They clinched on a night when both them and the Rangers lost. They have been about as inconsistent of late than any other losing team. They won’t make it very far into the playoffs. If history runs its course, they will beat the Angels, but they won’t get past the Yankees in the ALCS if they even get that far.
The playoff race in the NL West has gotten a little slow lately but that is comparing it to the way it was when the Rockies were unbeatable. They have lost a few key games over the past few weeks but the race is still close. Neither the Dodgers or the Rox have clinched and it will most certainly go down to the wire. One thing that is definite… the Giants made a run but their pitching couldn’t carry them all the way. They need to hit too. All I have to say to the Rockies is this… if you’re gonna go out there and lose, you better watch out for the Braves who could easily sweep out of no where and take the wild card.

Back, Back, Back, Back, Gone!
I know I haven’t been here for very long but it is time for my departure and I wanted to let everyone know. My schedule has really increased in activity and I will not have a lot of time to write on this blog. I am back at school and have a lot of work to do. When the winter comes I will be running track and that will take up even more of my time. Tuesday’s and Wednesdays I have even more stuff to do as I go and play around with my band after school. All in all, I’m booked.

I am still very interested in journalism and I wanted to keep up my writing so I created this blog about the Texas Longhorns football team, my favorite team. To Be Completely Honest…
I am more focused on football season coming up than on the playoff races in the MLB that are going on right now. I am a huge football fan, both college and professional. I’m a Longhorn at heart and a Pats fan since forever. Football is my favorite sport overall and I really enjoy watching it. Now, being a small guy, I’m not really the kind of guy that plays competitive football at my high school, but my friends and I have our own little thing going on which we play each other every week. It’s pretty fun and I enjoy playing all the time.
Now, although I am focused on football more than baseball right now, I am still keeping up with the major headlines around the league. Here are my top three headlines from yesterday.
- Halladay one-hits Yankees
- Red Sox are slaughtered by White Sox, Rangers Creep up on Red Sox in Wild Card Race
- The Rox keep on rolling in the NL West
I didn’t even realize that the Yankees had a seven game winning streak going into last night until I saw it on Sportscenter this morning. When I saw that, I was just thinking, Wow the Yanks are unstoppable right now… then we ran into Roy Halladay.
Since the trade deadline in which Halladay was most likely to be traded, he hasn’t really been on top of his game the way he has been the first part of the year. Now, I’m not saying he was bad. Because that is the last thing he was. He still was throwing really well but the offense wasn’t giving him all the support he needed. He had his off days and his record stumbled down with a few losses. Last night was a sign of how good he really can be. And against a powerhouse like the Yankees helps his point.
Simply the only hit he gave up against the Yanks was a double down the line for Ramiro Pena. It was a really disappointing loss as a Yankee fan but you really have to appreciate how good Halladay was. He was brilliant.
Freddy Garcia was also very good last night against the Red Sox. Another great performance against a powerhouse. Garcia finished the game after throwing six innings, giving up seven hits, and one run. He struck out five in his phenominal performance. The Red Sox just could not get anything off him. It was pretty much the total opposite for Paul Byrd who started for the BoSox. Byrd was chased after two and a third innings. He was just aweful. He gave up seven runs on ten hits, including a homer. He did strike out three but that didn’t really mean much after his early departure.
The White Sox’s power surge last night was something that we know the Sox could have but the question was when would it happen. Last night is when. The Red Sox lost and that meant a huge problem was about to happen in the Wild Card race if the Rangers and Rays both won.
The Rangers won over the Orioles last night behind Scott Feldman who was just STELLAR. This win was huge for the Rangers as it moved them within two of the Wild Card lead. The Red Sox better be careful the rest of this series with the White Sox because if they can’t pull it together, they will surely lose the Wild Card spot.
Jason Giambi… everyone remembers him right? Well, after last night, you should. He hit a go ahead single to bring in the go ahead run for Colorado as they went ahead over the Arizona Diamondbacks. This come from behind win is going to prove to be huge as they win the Wilid Card spot for the playoffs. I am sure they will win it and that is my very confident prediction. The Rox have been a sight to see the past couple months as they have just streaked throughout their schedule and have really made a big impact on the league. Their presence in the playoffs is going to be great. Who knows how far they will go if they continue to streak like this.
Back to football. The Patriots open their season up against the Bills on Monday Night Football next week. It is going to be a huge stage to open the season up and the Patriots are going to start up what is going to be a super year for them. I am predicting they win the Super Bowl over the Packers this year and redeem theirselves as the champs of the league. They really are the best team in the league. And I think they will win the Super Bowl this year. With Brady back and healthy, that should be a no doubter.
The Texas Longhorns are my other favorite team, being in the NCAA’s. Colt McCoy is my favorite college player and when he gets drafted into the NFL he will then be my favorite NFL football player. Texas is always going to be my favorite team in the college level just because I have followed them for a while now. The thing about college is that players cycle through. They play in college and then are drafted and new guys come in. Texas is always going to be my favorite team even if the powerhouse goes down in the future when their star players are all gone. But I think Texas is one of those teams that continues to get new guys that will be great throughout college from their freshman year through their senior years. Colt McCoy is that kind of example.

Uno, Dos, Tres…
C’mon Jorge. It goes like this. Uno… dos… tres… so on. How can you not think this was hilarious. I mean, Yankee fans as well as everyone else around the MLB community should get a kick out of this. And I figured that after being away from this blog for a week or so I should start back up with something simple and funny. This is the perfect thing.
The Yankees are still rolling with the division lead over the Red Sox which is now up to 6.5 games if you were wondering. Last night, they played the second game of a three game series against the O’s at Camden Yards and there were plenty of exciting moments, and strange ones as well.
The Bombers are the Bombers. You have to expect them to hit a lot of homers. Not only while they are at homer friendly Yankee Stadium, but also while they are on the road. I mean, they are just a really talented and powerful team that hits a lot of homers. Get over it haters.
Robby Cano hit one in the second inning. Jorge Posada hit one in the third and then hit another one in the fifth. A two homer night wasn’t the only thing that got Posada recognized though. More on that in a second. Nick Swisher and Eric Hinske both went yard in the seventh. So there is your list of homers on the night and as always, a very impressive performance by the Bombers.
So, Posada had a great game offensively against the O’s yesterday. But I don’t think he remembered how to count. Twice, Posada got the counts messed up and the home plate umpire had to remind him of what was going on.
At one point, HP ump Angel Hernandez had to remind Posada that he had just looked at ball four and was awarded a walk. This was a few seconds after Posada looked at the pitch and as he was getting ready for another. The pitcher would’ve loved to get another chance but the umpire was alert and gave Posada the heads up. The second time he messed up the count. He thought he had struck out. When he started walking back to the dugout, Hernandez, as well as guys in the dugout were telling him it was only two strikes. It was great. Hysterical.
Both Derek Jeter and A-Rod were filmed by the camera men at the game laughing about the incident and Johnny Damon was also in there somewhere too. It was really funny and all his teammates were getting a kick out of it. What I really don’t get is how Posada, being a catcher, messed up two different counts in one game. It is really strange and it doesn’t happen often.
